Perhaps you can tell by the paltry selection of photos, that Athens was not high on our list of best places to visit! Piraeus, the main port where we were docked was busy and noisy and congested - it took us over an hour to get out of the port precinct and onto the road for Athens... not a great start to the day.
Once we eventually got into the city, we walked up to explore the Acropolis & the Parthenon and then had a wander around the Plaka district. It was interesting and we're glad we went and saw what needs to be seen when visiting Athens, but were quite happy at the end of the day to get back on board our lovely ship and sail off into the sunset.
