The Ben-dog had to go back to the vet again yesterday. The good news was that her wound is healing well and she could have her red bandage removed. The bad news was that she has to wear the "lampshadethingy" to stop her licking it.
Poor pup - it was too horrible and frightening. She just sat rooted to the spot, muscles tensed, eyes alarmed, tail between her legs, and it broke our hearts.
So that was that. Neither the Puppymummy nor the Dogfather, nor indeed Ben herself could bear this, so we removed it.
And she's been a little star and not licking her paw which means it's not bothering her anyway.
Happiness is restored.
