Lov-e-ly jub-i-lee !

We had a lovely few days celebrating and feasting for Queen & Country ... despite the weather!

After 2 weeks of glorious warm sunshine, the temperature dropped and the rain arrived.

Ah, once again the fickle English weather comes into play. But in true British style, we 

Kept Calm & Carried On.

We had a full house on Saturday evening - 5 residents, 10 guests and 2 hounds - but the rain stopped long enough for us to have a braai on the deck.  Garlic bread & Pimms for starter, lekker steak, wors & sosaties for main course and a delicious Victoria sponge with buttercream and berries Union Jack cake for dessert - a perfect clash of Serfrican and English traditions! 

Thanks for the cake Chris - it really was yummily jubilicious...
