This week was the "Walkers & Hounds" outing to the Wyre Forest, a beautiful expanse of Worcestershire countryside that I'd been dying to explore and really looking forward to visiting. But when I got up on Tuesday morning, it was cloudy and rainy and on the whole, a pretty miserable looking day. Being fair-weather walkers, we traded a few texts (sms, to those of you in the southern hemisphere) debating the mutual dislike and drawbacks of walking in the rain (frizzy hair was the main concern!) before deciding to go ahead anyway. Less than an hour later we had arrived, abandoned the warmth and comfort of hot chocolate in the Visitor's Centre cafe and headed down the trail. The canines had a fabulous time, splashing and dashing and chasing each other (and the local Kidderminster football team who were out for a training run!) whilst we girls marched our way through the forest with hoods up and heads down, dreaming of lunch at The Running Horses pub that awaited us at the end.

Today's weather was much more pleasant (mild & dry!) so the pups & I headed over to Warley woods for a lovely long walk with (cousin) Gill & Breagha (the cutest spaniel ever) then enjoyed morning tea & a natter back at their home.

So that's my walkies for the week... Good training for my 5km Race for Life in May!
