Lost in the Midlands...

We moved to Worcestershire 17 months ago and today for the first time, I GOT LOST.

I had just popped out to run a quick errand, did what I needed to do, hopped back into my car, turned out of the parking lot into an unfamiliar one-way street, picked the wrong lane, took a wrong turning and ended up L.O.S.T.

Simple, I thought. I'll just stay on this road, going in this direction until I see a sign post and voila, I will find my way home.
Ah, not so simple after all.
I drove through Redditch, Beoley, Hockley Heath... all familiar names, but no signposts telling me in which direction I needed to be going.
When I passed "Welcome to Warwickshire - Shakespeare Country" , I started to panic. I had crossed the Shire border!  How I miss Cape Town, where all you have to do is look up, see where Table Mountain is and in an instant you've got your bearings.
Anyway, eventually "A435 / M42 The South West" came into view.  Yippeee... I breathed a sigh of relief, followed the signs and headed home.

Note to self:  Put the SatNav back in the car.
