What a difference a week makes...

Last week Tom was visiting from SA, so we did the obvious things: Tom and I took the dogs for a walk and then settled down in front of the telly to watch the boks take on the might of Scotland ... but I'm getting ahead of myself - it's bliksem-cold up on the hill with the dogs - who seem totally oblivious because there's stuff to smell, woods to dash in and out of and other pups to play with, so I'm telling Tom that it's plus 4.5 degrees and I make the point that over here the sign is often important ... Right, flashforward a week - Gill and I are walking the dogs on the hill and it's now 3.5 degrees below zero up there with snow everywhere ... but the boks beat the English, so all's well in the land ... [just please don't ask about last weeks game...]  - ali
