...that it would be that difficult to get Swedish Krone in this town?
How's a girl supposed to shop without local currency at her destination? Sigh...
Usually it's as easy as popping into our local village Post Office and buying some.
No exchange control regulations. No passport or return air ticket required. Just pop in, ask the friendly Postmaster, PK (not sure what his actual name is. His badge just says: PK - Postmaster!) for whatever foreign currency you need, hand over the equivalent in Pounds, and voila... have currency, will travel.
But noooo... Not when it comes to Swedish Krone apparently. They seem to be a rare commodity.
So, I have spent a whole whack of time this afternoon, calling around and trying to track down the elusive Krone.
One of the Bureaux de Change I called said they could sell me £20 worth. Ha ha ha ha ha.... that probably won't even cover the cost of the taxi from the airport !
Anyway, to cut a long story short - I have finally secured sufficient, and have elicited a promise from a lovely, helpful lady at M&S in Solihull that she won't sell them to anyone else before I get there tomorrow morning to buy them. Whew...
Off to Stockholm for a few days to celebrate Chris's birthday - only 3 more sleeps... promise to take lots of pics and tell you all about it when we get back.
Bye for now,
xoxo
