Mud-wrestling in the Lickeys

We have had so much rain for the past month (apparently the wettest June since records began in 1910!) so when the sun came out on Thursday, I harnessed up the pups and off we went to the Lickey woods for a walk.  "Make hay whilst the sun shines" and all that...
Needless to say, whilst the air was dry, the ground wasn't.  So it really was more of a slip/slide/squelch than a walk, but nonetheless the pups were so excited to be out & about again and they had a wonderful time.

The highlight for them had to be the fact that the puddles had actually become pools of mud...
Before...
..during...

& after...
The lowlight for me was being showered in mud as they emerged from the pool and shook themselves off!

The woods are so green and pretty, and it was lovely to see the sun again...

Alas, it was not to last and the rainy weather returned on Friday morning.   Surely, surely summer has to come sometime?
In the meantime, we're having a relaxing weekend - Ali's solving some new puzzles , I've been making a new quilt and we're watching the Wimbledon finals.  Go Andy!

Happy weekend all...
xx
