We enjoyed such a lovely afternoon yesterday with family visiting from Edinburgh.
We left Malcolm (not being big on walking) in charge of the remote and he stayed in to watch the rugby (Scotland and England both won their matches so he was pleased) whilst the rest of us meandered up the road for a walk in the Lickey woods. En route we bumped into our new neighbours, who have literally just moved in this week, so we introduced ourselves and they joined us for a walk. The three girls are the same age so within minutes they were the best of friends and along with little bro, set about exploring and adventuring. Ben, Jerry & Breagha headed off in another direction at high speed (grass to nibble, squirrels to chase...) and we grown-ups (and baby bro) nattered away, catching up and forging new friendships.
When little legs were starting to get tired and little tummies, hungry - we headed for home and feasted on yummy chocolate chip cookies (I'd bake a double batch, so much to Ali's delight there are still a few left over) and a big pot of Earl Grey.
What a lovely way to spend an afternoon...
