Re-decorate Snug: tick

The Snug (tv room for the non-Brits) has been on my list to paint and re-decorate for ages, and I'm happy to announce that I have, just yesterday, ticked it off. YAY.

It was one of the rooms that HAD to be painted before we moved in as along with Ali's cave and one of the guest rooms, it was a hideous yellow/neon pink (can't really remember which - I've blocked it from my mind) which we really could NOT live with. 

So for the past 2 years, the Snug has tolerated bland creamy walls and a cluttered mish-mash of decor.

Long overdue for some TLC then, I decided that purple is the new red and got stuck in. 

I re-painted the walls (Malted Chocolate), replaced the rug and the curtains, painted the picture frames (Just Plum), sewed some new cushions and bought a new oak media unit to replace the "this-will-do-in-the-meantime" Ikea cabinet.

  I even used the left over Just Plum to paint the African man's trousers (I'd never really liked his yellow ones) so now even he matches perfectly with the rest of the decor!

So, apart from the DIY this week, we've been enjoying some glorious Summer sunshine - lovely walks in the Lickey woods with the pups, lunch al-fresco most days, and madly trying to finish the baby blankie I'm knitting for my friend & neighbour, Janet, whose first grandbaby is due in 2 weeks time.
