Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest, but we woke to the sounds of sledding and shovelling - some of our neighbours (those with kids actually, who had probably been up for hours already anyway) were out in full force, the little people doing the former and the big people, the latter.
So, in accordance with our unwritten neighbourly agreement, we too donned our shovelling gear and set about clearing and gritting our patch of the street. Many hands do make light work, and in no time at all our work was done and we retreated inside to reward ourselves with hot coffee and crispy bacon sandwiches. So, that was the first big snowfall of the winter. Tick.
