Venice was our first port of call, and despite a few spits & spots of rain as we landed at Marco Polo International, the sun soon reappeared and cast its glow over this beautiful city.
Once we'd gone through the procedures of check-in, boarding and lunch, we spent the next (almost) 2 days just wandering around, exploring, shopping and generally enjoying this amazing place.
We love to discover streets and canals that are a wee bit off the beaten (tourist!) track and were delighted to stumble upon the local produce market. I was not as delighted however, to further stumble upon the local fish market! I held my breath and beat a hasty retreat whilst Ali (who has no sense of smell anyway) strolled around snapping pics of all sorts of smelly sea creatures.
And it was in Venice that the challenge was laid down:
we have to have AT LEAST one ice-cream per day for the duration of the cruise.
