This morning dawned bright and beautiful... and minus 9C ... bbrrrrrr
...And so began the process of digging out.
Suitably wrapped up against the cold, all the neighbours pitched in and by lunchtime we had aching backs and sore knees, but our street was cleared and gritted. The Spanish, South Africans and Indians amongst us wistfully talked of warmer climes (and had a short yet meaningful discussion about the cricket and Jacques Kallis's fabulous double century) whilst the hardy Brits produced hot coffee and a bottle of Baileys and just got stuck in with the shovelling. Not sure any of us will actually be able to walk tomorrow morning, but at least we'll be able to get the cars out!
