We've been enjoying Oz's visit here in sunny Brum. It really is sunny. Promise! Although the wind is howling and blowing all the autumn leaves everywhere, and it's a rather crispy 13C.
But it's sunny.
Not to be sniffed at. Sunny is better than rain.
On Friday, I hosted a charity Tea Party (not to be confused with a
political Tea Party!) at home and we had great fun eating, drinking
(tea, naturally) and being merry.
Carla, who is a Pampered Chef Consultant extraordinaire, very kindly drove up all the way from Berkshire in the early hours to show us all the wonderful goodies, and made a trifle, and then we enjoyed many a giggle as everyone iced & decorated some cupcakes. All in all, it was a good morning and we raised about £110 for Help Whip Cancer.
Then on Saturday, Ali manned the fort and puppy-sat whilst Oz & I hopped on the train to London for the day. Chris met us at Euston and we had a wander around and a yummy lunch at Covent Garden before heading to the Theatre Royal on Haymarket for the matinee performance of the very funny "One Man, Two Guvnors". What a treat! If you get the opportunity to see it, do. It's brilliant.
(An aside to the UK readers: The play is touring the UK in November, so look out for it and GO!)
So on Sunday, we just lazed around and had a relaxing day. Then yesterday we were back on the tourist trail and meandered over to Stratford-upon-Avon for a wander around the little shops and another yummy lunch (we do like our yummy lunches!) followed by a stroll along the Avon riverside.
Oz is heading up to Glasgow for a few days tomorrow so I'll catch up with all the domesticity & chores, and plan our "Still To Do" list for her return !
Hope you're having a good week too.
